Description	:	Raymond F. House, 85, of Revere, Mo., died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Lexington Square in Keokuk. Born Jan. 8, 1927, in Farmington, he was the son of William Glen and Mabel Spears House. On July 24, 1948, he married Alberta Doris Sampson. She died in 1980. Mr. House was a licensed electrician and retired from Keokuk School District, where he was buildings and grounds supervisor. He had served as Revere councilman. House, 85, of Revere, Mo., died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Lexington Square in Keokuk. Born Jan. 8, 1927, in Farmington, he was the son of William Glen and Mabel Spears House. On July 24, 1948, he married Alberta Doris Sampson. She died in 1980. Mr. House was a licensed electrician and retired from Keokuk School District, where he was buildings and grounds supervisor. He had served as Revere councilman. He grew up in Farmington and moved to Keokuk in 1967, and to Revere in 1982. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk and also attended Peaksville, Mo. Christian Church. He served many years as commander of Herman Blum Post 192 of American Legion in Kahoka, Mo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his tractor, mowing with his riding lawn mower, and especially, his family. He was referred to as "Grandpa Freddie" by the youngest generation and he liked watching children play. Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Witt of Revere, Barbara Howell of Miller, Mo., and Candace Allen of Wayland, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nine great-great- grandchildren; longtime special friend, Leona Elder of Kahoka; one brother, Stanley House of Burlington; one sister, Mary Jane Roberts of Merced, Calif.; nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, one great-grandchild, his parents and two sisters. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. with a military ceremony to follow. The funeral for Mr. House will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shawn McAfee and Bill Hauser officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington. A memorial has been established for Iowa Hospice.
