Description	:	Raymond Gene Rupe, 94, of Eldon passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Jefferson County Heath Care Center in Fairfield. Visitation, with the family present, will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the Eldon Christian Church. A luncheon at the church will be served immediately following the visitation. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Eldon Christian Church with burial to follow in the Fiedler Cemetery. Raymond Gene Rupe was born January 29, 1921 to Ray and Blanche “Ritchie” Rupe. From the moment he was born he was a farmer. He attended the Shank Country School and eventually took over the duties on the farm. From an early age Raymond had an interest in cattle. He quickly turned this interest into a successful cattle farm. He raised row crops as well but only to provide feed for the cattle. While enjoying the life of a young, hardworking farmer, he met the love of his life, Thelma Sedore. The two were married December 25, 1943. Together they were the loving parents to five beautiful daughters. His love for the farm was only surpassed by his love of being a husband and father. Raymond adored his daughters from the day they were born. Later in life, after semi-retiring from the farm, Raymond began woodworking. It was a craft they he was very good at and enjoyed as well. He could make anything from furniture to cabinetry. Raymond and Thelma moved to Eldon in 2002 where he continued his woodworking. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a lifetime farmer. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his kindness and his always present smile. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Virginia Whittom (2014); three son-in-laws; and two siblings, Richard and Hazel Rupe. Left to honor his memory are is his loving wife, Thelma Rupe of Eldon; four daughters, he was also the proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
