Description	:	HOLTON --- Raymond H. "Ray" Morris, 73, Topeka, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at a Topeka hospital. He was born March 5, 1931, in Holton, the son of James and Nellie Teer Morris. He lived his early life in the Holton community, where he worked for Seymour Egg & Produce, and later for Holton Produce. He moved in 1961 to Topeka, where he owned and operated Ray's Derby Gas Station for 25 years. He had served in the Army National Guard. He married Doris E. Nickell on May 22, 1954, in Holton. She survives. Other survivors... Read More	HOLTON --- Raymond H. "Ray" Morris, 73, Topeka, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at a Topeka hospital. He was born March 5, 1931, in Holton, the son of James and Nellie Teer Morris. He lived his early life in the Holton community, where he worked for Seymour Egg & Produce, and later for Holton Produce. He moved in 1961 to Topeka, where he owned and operated Ray's Derby Gas Station for 25 years. He had served in the Army National Guard. He married Doris E. Nickell on May 22, 1954, in Holton. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry Morris, Holton, and Randy Morris, Perry; a daughter, Linda Baker, Topeka; a sister, June Cavin, Wetmore; a brother, Russel Morris, Berryton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were eight brothers, Warren, Orville, Lawrence, Everett, Jim, Lloyd, Milton and Robert. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Wetmore Cemetery. Mr. Morris will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
