Description	:	KRONBORG — Raymond J. Sabata, 74, of Kronborg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kronborg. The Rev. Brian Krause will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery. Sabata, 74, of Kronborg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kronborg. The Rev. Brian Krause will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of the arrangements. Raymond J. Sabata, the son of Joseph B. and Alice E. (Koza) Sabata, was born on a farm in Butler County, Neb., on Oct. 7, 1939 and passed away in Grand Island, Neb., on Jan. 23, 2014, at the age of 74. Ray grew up in Butler County. He attended country school 88 and David City High School. Ray was united in marriage to Linda Jo Baer on Jan. 25, 1963, at Kearney. Ray worked as a mechanic, tool and die worker, drove a school bus and was a welder. Linda passed away on July 25, 2007. Ray enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed 20 years of racing from 1954-74. Ray especially liked spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Marvin and Lyle; and the family dogs, Scooter and Oogie. Those left to cherish his memory are his three children and their spouses, Randy and Donna Sabata of Aurora, Debbie Smith of Hordville and Bill and Michelle Sabata of Aurora; nine grandchildren, Eric (Tanya), Adam, Jeremy, Josh, Kelsey, Tanya, Bobby, Allie and Sami and four great-grandchildren, Jazmin and Trey Moellenberndt, MaKinlee Sabata and Baylinn Rollins. He is also survived two brothers, LeRoy Sabata of Garden City, Kan., and Russell Sabata of Polk; and a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Wood Wittulski of Hordville.
