Description	:	MILLERSBURG -- Raymond J. Starner, 82, of Millersburg, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 2008, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home, with his loving wife and family at his side. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church with the Rev. Ross Miller officiating. Private family burial will be in the church cemetery prior to the service on Sunday. Friends may call Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Walnut Creek Mennonite Church for Mongolia Missions, P.O. Box 182, Walnut Creek 44687. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg. He was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Nashville, and was the son of Ray and Clara (Kinsey) Starner. On June 7, 1947, he married Ruth Miller. She survives. He worked at Timken Roller Bearing for 35 years, retiring on Oct. 3, 1983, and was a World War II veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors including hiking, mushroom hunting and building birdhouses. Raymond was a member of Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. Surviving in addition to his wife, Ruth, are children, Randy Starner of Sugarcreek, Sue (Bob) Weaver of Nashville and Linda (Dennis) Weiss of Millersburg; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kelly) Weiss, Ryan (Amanda) Weiss, Erin (Caleb) Moan, Amy (Donnie) Austin and Todd (Laura) Weaver; great-grandchildren, Marcus and Brenna Moan, Alexis and Blake Weiss and Noah Weaver. He is also survived by a brother, Gene Starner of Glenmont, and a sister-in-law, Frances Mast of Walnut Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Akins; and a brother, Clarence Starner.
