Description	:	Mr. Raymond J. Riedeman, age 87, or Orange City, formerly of Sanborn, passed away Thursday, October 18, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. Raymond John was born April 16, 1903, at Alton the son of Herman Riedeman and Dena Rexwinkel Riedeman. He was raised at Alton, where he graduated from the Alton High School. Riedeman, age 87, or Orange City, formerly of Sanborn, passed away Thursday, October 18, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. Raymond John was born April 16, 1903, at Alton the son of Herman Riedeman and Dena Rexwinkel Riedeman. He was raised at Alton, where he graduated from the Alton High School. He also attended Iowa State University at Ames for two years. He then returned to Sioux County, where he assisted several farmers. On August 30, 1928, he married Jeanette A. Scholten at Alton. They made their home in Orange City, where he was a manager of the Orange City Co-operative Creamery. In 1955, they moved to Sanborn, where he was employed in the production department of the creamery there. AFter retirement, they continued to live in Sanborn until July of this year, when they became residents of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sanborn and in earlier years belonged to the Alton Reformed Church. He had served on the consistory as an elder and had also been a Sunday School and Catechism teacher. "Ray" and his wife enjoyed many activities with their relatives and friends. He is survived by his wife; nieces and nephews, including Virginia Templeton, of Alton; Helen Horn, of Madison, Wisconsin; and William Riedeman, Jr., of Frankenmuth, Michigan; two brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette "Jen" Cambier, two brothers, William H. Riedeman and Dr. Dores J. Riedeman, two infant sisters; and an infant brother. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 20, at the First Reformed Church of Sanborn, with the Revs. Gerald G. Osland and William Haak officiating. Interment followed at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
