Description	:	UNITY - Raymond Joseph Tardiff, 79, of Unity and formerly of Waterville passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Hartford, Conn., the son of Lionel and Felixine (Drouin) Tardiff. He attended Augusta schools. Raymond married Ada Pelton on March 14, 1947, in Hallowell. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Ada's passing in 1997. Raymond helped care for Ada's parents for many years. He was active in his daughter's life and was a loving husband. He was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Hartford, Conn., the son of Lionel and Felixine (Drouin) Tardiff. He attended Augusta schools. Raymond married Ada Pelton on March 14, 1947, in Hallowell. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Ada's passing in 1997. Raymond helped care for Ada's parents for many years. He was active in his daughter's life and was a loving husband. He was always known for being a joker and prankster. He retired as a glazier after many years in the glass industry. He was a member of the Getchell Street Baptist Church in Waterville. He loved to spend time visiting family and friends. Raymond was an avid bowler for many years, and loved day trips, lawn sales, and playing cards. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Lionel and Felixine Tardiff; his wife, Ada Tardiff; two sisters, Lorette Joseph and Lucille St. Germaine; and a stepson, Joseph Giroux. Raymond is survived by his devoted fiancŽe, Tammy Federico; his daughter, Diane Gallant and her husband, Corey, of Burnham; sisters Bernadette Paradis of Augusta, Theresa Jolin of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Jeannette Morrissette of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; two stepgrandchildren, Diane Pinkham of Waterville and Vannessa Gallant of Belfast; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. A committal service will follow at Chadwick Hill Cemetery in South China. (Morning Sentinel 6/6/2007)
