He was born May 12, 1924, in Vevay, the son of Clarence and Bernice McKenzie Brown. He was raised in Switzerland County and had lived in Columbus since 1972. Read More	Raymond Kenneth "Ken" Brown, 87, of Columbus, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at Davis Elderly Care in Hanover. He was born May 12, 1924, in Vevay, the son of Clarence and Bernice McKenzie Brown. He was raised in Switzerland County and had lived in Columbus since 1972. He was employed from 1945 to 1970 in sales at the Barber Grocery. He worked in marketing and promotions for the Indiana Gas Co. in Columbus from 1970 to 1986. He was a member of the Union Lodge No. 2 F. & A.M., the Columbus Elks Lodge, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Murat Shrine in Indianapolis. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Hope. He enjoyed golf, reading Westerns, woodworking, fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by two daughters, Pauline Francis Bruther of Hanover and Mandy Messina of Hope; two sons, Kenny Brown of Lafayette and Jeff Brown of Columbus; four sisters, Janice Ramsey of Vevay, Betty Callahan of Westport, Sandy Lanham of Rexville; three brothers, Jack Brown of Westport, Darrell Brown of Vevay and Keith Brown of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Francis Rucker Brown, whom he married April 4, 1943; his parents; three brothers, Charles Everett Brown, Robert L. "Bobby" Brown and Clarence Brown Jr.; and two sisters, Virginia Bladen Burton and Mary Magness. A graveside service and burial was at Vevay Cemetery. Madison Courier 7/6/11
