Raymond was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Madison County, Neb., the son of William and Mary (Klug) Draube. He graduated from Norfolk (Neb.) Public Schools. Upon his graduation, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany for four years. Raymond moved to Sioux City and attended Normal Business Training School for two years. Raymond met the love of his life, Carol Koehler, and they married June 16, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Neb. Raymond worked as office manager for Souders Motors for five years, then began a career as office manager for Sioux Honey Association that lasted more than 25 years. He retired from there in 2005. Raymond was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he served in several capacities, including elder, church president, church treasurer and several other offices of the church. He was an active member of the church choir. Raymond also served the youth of St. Paul's by being an active member of the school PTL, and serving as a Cub Scout master for more than 20 years. Raymond was active in AAL for many years, where he served as a branch officer and was secretary-treasurer of the local chapter. Raymond was active in Cosmopolitan Club, and was named 1980 International Cosmo of the year. Raymond enjoyed gardening, music and spending time with his family. He cherished the time he spent with his two granddaughters. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Carol; his three sons, Timothy of Sioux City, Scott (Dawn) of Sioux City and Todd of Omaha, Neb.; his two granddaughters, Emma and Ashlyn; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
