Obituary Frederick News Post - July 26, 1993 Mr. Raymond Lloyd Grubb Jr., 41, of 19821 Beallsville Road, Beallsville, died Saturday, July 24, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville. He was the husband of Nancy Lee Grubb. Born in Frederick, he was a son of R. Lloyd and Thelma Harvey Grubb Sr. of Poolesville. Mr. Grubb began his employment in 1973 with the Montgomery County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, and was serving as a lieutenant assigned to Rockville Station 31 at the time of his death. He was an active life member of the Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department, joining in 1969. He was serving as a captain at the time of his death. He also served on the board of directors and various committees over the years. He also was a member of the Montgomery County Collapse Rescue Team. He coached and was active for years with UMCAA baseball. Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are two children, Regina R. Grubb and Raymond Lloyd Grubb III, at home; and a sister, Peggy L. Kinna, her husband Larry, and their children, David and Shannon Kinna, all of Frederick. The family will receive friends 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, in Barnesville, where a fire department memorial service will begin at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in Poolesville United Methodist Church, Elgin Road, Poolesville. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ray Grubb Family College Fund, c/o Upper Montgomery Fire Department, P.O. Box 8, Beallsville, Md.
