Noring Dies at 47; Rites Set Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Home for Funerals, Norfolk, for Raymond Noring, 47, Rte. 2, Norfolk, who was chief engineer for the Matson Steamship Lines. He died of a heart attack aboard ship April 10 at Honolulu, Hawaii. The Rev. Harold Mitchell, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mr. Noring was born July 3, 1927, at Hastings to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Noring, and married Virginia Fitch, former Norfolkan, in 1953 at Long Beach, Calif. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy until 1954, when he joined the Matson Company. He and Mrs. Noring made their home in California until three and one half years ago, when they purchased a home south of Norfolk on Highway 81. Mrs. Noring had since resided here and Mr. Noring was here when not on a ship. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Surviving his wife, Virginia. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
