Description	:	Raymond P. McMahon, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McMahon, was born at Cozad, Nebr., on July 15, 1910. He met his death by accident at Augusta, Kansas, on October 31, 1950, at the age of 40 years, 3 months and 16 days. Raymond lived with his parents in Custer county until the age of four, when they moved to York county, and later to Fairmont, where he grew to manhood. McMahon, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McMahon, was born at Cozad, Nebr., on July 15, 1910. He met his death by accident at Augusta, Kansas, on October 31, 1950, at the age of 40 years, 3 months and 16 days. Raymond lived with his parents in Custer county until the age of four, when they moved to York county, and later to Fairmont, where he grew to manhood. On August 23, 1933, he was united in marriage to Bernice L. Ritchey. To this union two children were born, Richard Charles and Donetta Rae. Raymond served one year and five months in the armed services during World War II, receiving his honorable discharge on November 15, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was baptized in the St. Helena Catholic Church in Oconto, Nebr. Those who remain to mourn his untimely death are his wife and two children; his parents; one brother, Francis of Fairmont; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Hickmon of York and Mrs. Charles Langdon of Fairmont; also several nieces and nephews and his many friends. Funeral services were held in Grace Methodist church in Fairmont on Friday, November 3 at 1:30 , conducted by Rev. Norman Smitheram and Rev. Willard F. Payne. Interment in the Farimont cemetery. Earl Forbes Post No. 21, American Legion provided military honors. Music was furnished by Oliver Moul, accompanied by Mrs. Rex Plock at the organ. Pallbearers were Chester Moyle, Raymond Hall, Don Souba, Nick Boyes, Don Kness and William Hartman.
