The Shelly funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Ray Reginald, son of Reginald and Henrietta (Bouton) Emmert, was born March 10, 1899, at Fulton, Minn. He came at an early age with his parents to Jones county. He received his education in the rural schools of Jones county. Following his schooling, he worked on various farms in the area until his marriage. He was united in marriage with Helen Laura Kemp on June 10, 1925, at Earlville. Following their marriage, they lived in Hazel Green township of Delaware county and he engaged in the carpenter trade. They lived in Hazel Green township all of their lives until her death on Nov. 6, 1968. Following her death, he continued to live in Hazel Green township. He was united in marriage with Mrs. Edith M. Martens on Aug. 9, 1970, at the Golden church. Mr. Emmert was a longtime member of the Golden church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith M. Emmert of rural Delhi; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Frantzen of Fayettesville, Ark., Mrs. Donald (Mary) Russell of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Clarence (Delores) Sullivan of Monticello; two sons, Thomas R. of Marion and Larry of Tama; four step-children, Mrs. Don (Alma) Yates and Mrs. Delbert (Hila) Dean, both of Fayette, Lloyd Martens and LaVerne Martens, both of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 23 step-great-grandchildren and nine step great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William Emmert of Janesville, Wis., four sisters, Mrs. Emil (Alice) Zumbrunnen of Pontiac, Mich., Laura Vorath of Spokane, Wash., and Josie Quade and Mildred Anderson, both of Janesville, Wis., and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
