Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mitchellville Funeral Home. Ray was born October 13, 1923 in Elkhart, Iowa. He graduated from Bondurant High School in 1941. From 1939 to 1940 he was captain of the basketball team at Bondurant High School. He was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He had lived in Mitchellville since 1946. Previous to that he resided in Bondurant. Ray enjoyed gardening, taking care of his neighbors and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Roma of Mitchellville; his children, David R. Ault of Des Moines, Marton L. Ault of Aurora, CO, James R. Ault of Carlisle, Laura J. Ault of Mitchellville, Raymond D. Ault of Des Moines and Jerry E. Ault of Mitchellville; his brother, Orie H. Ault of Bondurant; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Harvey" and Eva Ault, two brothers and two sisters. Memorials are suggested to his family.
