Description	:	Raymond R. DeLong was born April 3, 1889 in Butler County, Iowa. He was the son of Jacob Franklin DeLong and Laura Ann (Miller) DeLong. He grew to manhood on the farm southeast of town. He married Lorena (Rena) Mae Ward of Algona, Iowa, on April 19, 1910. Mr. and Mrs. DeLong moved to Manberton, Minn. in 1913 where they resided until 1924 when they moved to Sauk Center. DeLong was born April 3, 1889 in Butler County, Iowa. He was the son of Jacob Franklin DeLong and Laura Ann (Miller) DeLong. He grew to manhood on the farm southeast of town. He married Lorena (Rena) Mae Ward of Algona, Iowa, on April 19, 1910. Mr. and Mrs. DeLong moved to Manberton, Minn. in 1913 where they resided until 1924 when they moved to Sauk Center. A son died in infancy. * Another source says, "They had eight children, seven daughters including Faye Irene DeLong and one son." But that should actually say they had nine children as Faye was omitted from the obituary and one son died in infancy. Ray had been ill since December. He passed away on July 29, 1937 at the age of 47 years in Sauk Centre, Stearns, Minnesota, USA. Funeral services were held from his late home on Monday, Aug. 2, and the body was brought here for brief funeral service on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. which were held at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Miller. Rev. G. H. Varce was in charge and spoke briefly. The Bristow quartette sang a selection, and the body was laid to rest in the family lot at Oak Hill. The floral offerings by Sauk Center businessmen, family and other friends were unusually beautiful. He is survived by his widow, seven daughters and one son. The widow, son Anthony, two daughters and a son-in-law, Mr. Curtis, accompanied the body to its last resting place. The entire immediate family was present at the obsequies held at Sauk Center.
