Raymond requested that memorials be sent to Landmark Gospel Church, Aberdeen, SD. Raymond V. Kensler was born on February 22, 1933 to Calvin and Ida (Knittel) Kensler in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up in Aberdeen and attended Henry Neil Elementary School and Central High School, graduating in 1953. In 1945, he started working at Malchow Co. and Delivery and Janitorial. Later, he worked at Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club, Green Thumb, F&M Bank, and Service Master. Raymond was very generous with his time and enjoyed volunteer work. He helped at the YMCA, Aberdeen Senior Center, cooked for the Salvation Army, and helped with Meals on Wheels. He did not know how to say no to anyone who asked him for help. Raymond enjoyed playing piano and played hundreds of songs by ear. He enjoyed traveling and has been to several countries. He liked to color with colored pencils and gave many of his creations to friends. He collected Christmas decorations and loved going to rummage sales and second-hand stores. He was very faithful to God. He was a prayer warrior and loved to worship and sing. Grateful for having shared Raymond’s life are his Landmark Gospel Church Family and close friend, Kris Sueltz Fliehs. Preceding Raymond in death are his parents, Calvin & Ida Kensler; stillborn brother and sister; brothers, Howard and Donald; and sister, Margaret. - Spiter-Miller Funeral Home
