Description	:	Raymond Virgil Large, 85, of Sterling, died Jan. 25, 1997, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ten nant Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tennant with the Rev. T.L. Phillips officiating. Military graveside rites performed by the V.F.W. Post 3541 will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Large was born Aug. 27, 1911, to Ralph and Florence (Rice) Large in Kirksville, Mo. He was raised in Centerville, Iowa and attended school there. He and his family moved to Atwood in 1923, where he finished school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-45. He married Elsie Amen in 1942. The couple ran Ray's Pet Food, beginning in 1961, and retireding 1977. Mr. Large was a member of the Sterling Elks Lodge No. 1336, the V.F.W. Lodge No. 3541 and the American Legion No. 20. He was an avid golfer, a marksman shoot er and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Elsie of Sterling; two daughters, Donna Benallo of Arvada and Carroll Lane of Sterling; a sister, Norma Norman of Otis; four grandchil dren, Kelli, Robert, Shawn and Cristen; and six great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by, brothers and sisters: Frances Short, Kenneth, Doris Theil, Delbert, Bernice Matthews, Bernard, Maxine Kelly, Nettie Smith, Joy Maciosek and Wanda Large.
