Description	:	Wenatchee World - July 13, 1995 EAST WENATCHEE - Rea M. Keener, 83, a longtime East Wenatchee resident, died Wednesday, July 12, 1995, in Highline Convalescent Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1911, to William H.V. and Evelyn (Rea) Hawxhurst at Wenatchee, where she was raised and attended school. She married Howard "Cy" Keener on July 16, 1938, at East Wenatchee, where they made their first home. Because of Mr. Keener's work, they traveled to oil fields throughout the United States until the early 1940s when they settled in East Wenatchee. Keener, 83, a longtime East Wenatchee resident, died Wednesday, July 12, 1995, in Highline Convalescent Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1911, to William H.V. and Evelyn (Rea) Hawxhurst at Wenatchee, where she was raised and attended school. She married Howard "Cy" Keener on July 16, 1938, at East Wenatchee, where they made their first home. Because of Mr. Keener's work, they traveled to oil fields throughout the United States until the early 1940s when they settled in East Wenatchee. Mrs. Keener had managed various restaurants in the Wenatchee Valley. She also worked at Wenoka as a sorter and then as an analyst for about 25 years. She later worked at Northern Fruit until her retirement. Mrs. Keener was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, East Wenatchee Branch, and later joined the Eastmont Community Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Mary Carl of East Wenatchee; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Donna) Gills of East Wenatchee; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1971, and two sisters. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
