| Description | : | Oldest child of James Abercrombie Sr and Hannah Pickard. James was born in Scotland about 1709 and came to America with wife, Hannah Pickard and several children. They were part of a colony of Jacobites along with the Hastings, Blackwells, Blakes, Dials and Lord and Lady McDonald. They probably settled first in Maryland, later Virginia, then North Carolina.
