Her entire life has been spent in Linn county, in the vicinity of Marion. She was married to Alpheus King, and to this union were given eight children; six of whom are living and mourn the death of their mother, James E of Marion; Mary Reinheimer of Marion; George of Pierce, Arizona; Alvin of Marion; Henry of Pasadena, Cal, and John of Marion. Dora and Albert died a number of years ago near the ages of 18 and 19. Mr King died in 1878 some thirty-six years ago thus leaving the bringing up of the family entirely to the mother which task she has well done and in the way only a mother can do. Besides the six children, she is survived by two sisters and four brothers, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs King was never of robust health yet of the temper that was always about her household duties. She was not widely known, thinking most of her home and family to be cared for. Such mothers leave an impress on their children that time and age will not erase or cause to be forgotten. Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Dr C F Ensign of the Presbyterian church. The final service in Oak Shade cemetery. The photo is of the family lot, but no headstone is found. The marker has probably sank beneath the grass.
