She was united in marriage on March 8, 1898, to John H. Gentry at Hamtonville, North Carolina. They came to Asherville, Kansas on February 2, 1906, and lived on a farm north of Asherville. Hoots at Hamtonville, North Carolina, April 15, 1877 and departed this life August 17, 1937 at 1:25 a.m. at the Halstead Hospital, after a short illness. Age 60 years, 4 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage on March 8, 1898, to John H. Gentry at Hamtonville, North Carolina. They came to Asherville, Kansas on February 2, 1906, and lived on a farm north of Asherville. A year was spent in Texas and a year and a half near Atchison, Kansas. The remainder of her life was lived near Simpson. She was converted and became a member of the Flat Rock Baptist church at Hamtonville, North Carolina, in 1894. She moved her membership to Asherville in 1920 and to Simpson in 1925, where she was a faithful member the rest of her life. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and a true and helpful friend to all who knew her. To this union were born seven children, which survive her: Mrs. Briscoe Krenkle of Gering, Nebraska; Roy of Simpson, Mrs. Chas Stortz of Asherville, Mrs. Cecil McClure of Glasco, and Clyde, Johnny and George Clifford of the home. She leaves to mourn her death her kind and faithful husband, seven children, nine grandchildren, four sisters and five brothers of Hamtonville, North Carolina; other relatives and a host of friends, (of which two sisters, Lilly and Winnie, and one brother, George, visited her the last week of July.) Rev. Lee of Ada was in charge of the services held at the Simpson Baptist Church, Friday evening at 6 o'clock. Burial in the Glasco cemetery, Lott & Stine, morticians. Pallbearers were: Charles Pearson, Joe Prickett, John Jones, Glea Jones, A.J. Ostlund and Clyde Duvall.
