Rawson, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rawson at Rushville, Indiana, August 8, 1847 and passed into the great beyond at her home in Altoona, Iowa, at 1:30 P. M. She was the last of her family, her husband and eight children having passed on before. Rebecca E. Rawson, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rawson at Rushville, Indiana, August 8, 1847 and passed into the great beyond at her home in Altoona, Iowa, at 1:30 P. M. December 4th 1918, at the godly age of 71 years, 3 mon- ths and 26 days. Her sojourn on the earth filled out her alloted years, and she did her best to fill them with service and true christ- ian living. For many years she has been a follower of the "Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world," and at the time of her departure was a faithful mem- ber of the Church of Christ here in this place. About the year 1862 Miss Rawson became the wife of Mr. John Driscoll, in Chillicothe, Missouri. To them God gave a family of eight child- ren, but all these and the father have already preceded the com- panion and mother into the great future. The deceased leaves to mourn her death of grand-children six, namely; Allen E. West, of Altoona, just recently discharged from the U.S. service at Camp Pike, Mrs. Mable Hilliker, Mrs. Edna Jordan, Harley West, Glen, Frank and Raymond Driscoll, all of Des Moines. She leaves nephews and nieces Ed Versaw, who had made his home with her to the time of her death, T.A. Versaw, of Des Moines, Dave Rawson, of Ford, Iowa, Mrs. Elva Heinlen of Mex- ico, Missouri, Mrs. Belle Scarlett of Fullerton, Nebraska, Mrs. Clau- die Connette, of South Auburn, Nebraska, Mrs. John Monssmyth, Mitchellville, Iowa, Mrs. Frankie McIntire, Carlisle, Iowa and Eben Rawson, of Hartford, Iowa. Many other relatives and friends are left who feel the loss from a- mong them of one whose first thoughts was duty, whose example was Christlike and whose very presence among them challenged all who knew her life and works. The funeral services were con- ducted from her late residence on Saturday morning, December 07, 1918 at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. M. R. Willson, pastor of the Church of Christ, after which the body was laid to rest in the Altoona cemetery. Come up higher, come up higher Oh! my soul, Mind thou not the things of time.
