The sermon was preached by Rev MD Scott of the ME Church. Her maiden name was Swimley, she was born December 2, 1829 in Washington DC. When five years of age, she went with her parents to Philadelphia. She came with her parents to Champaign County when 18 years of age and lived in Urbana. Her maiden name was Swimley, she was born December 2, 1829 in Washington DC. When five years of age, she went with her parents to Philadelphia. She came with her parents to Champaign County when 18 years of age and lived in Urbana. In 1849, she united in marriage with Nathan F Gibbs, seven children was the result of this union, of whom the husband, three sons and one daughter survive to mourn their loss. She died March 1, 1902. A number of relatives attended, Thomas McFarland of Cable, Mr Edward Gibbs, wife and sister of Sidney, Mr and Mrs Bixler and Amanda Brantner of Conover, Mr and Mrs Frank Fritz of Urbana, Mr and Mrs DeWeese of Pemberton, Mr and Mrs Humphrey Gibbs, WA Gibbs and sister Miss Grace Saunders of Springfield. She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
