Description	:	Rebecca's father (according to an abstract of his will in Bodie's History of Williamsburg [1705-1923]), was James McBride who died in that county about 1816. SMW, her first husband, died in 1825. EP was her 2nd husband (marrying her as the widow Witherspoon). She & EP sold 591 acres on north side of Black River to John Cousar for $1400 17 April 1834 (Sumter County register of deeds). On Sept. 3rd 1836, she was received for baptism at First Baptist Church (page 33, History of First Baptist Church of Sumter, S. C. [1938] by Rev & Mrs C. C. Brown).... Mag. of Ancestral research vol XVI #2 Spring 1988, p112, has info from the Witherspoon Bible indicating she died at age 82 years and 2 months [a printing transcription error?]. Her brother was John Dobbin McBride (1799-1820).
