Description	:	Wife of Robert Bagby, Jr. ~ Rebecca Jane Bagby (nee Campbell), was born in Fiemon county, Kentucky, June 6th, 1812 and died April 23d, 1898, hence she was 85 years, 10 months, and 17 days old at the time of her death. She was married to Mr. Robt Bagby, February 8th, 1838, with whom she lived happily 'till December 21st, 1884, when the Lord took him to Himself. There were born to Sister Bagby 27 grandchildren, twenty of whom are living, and there were 49 great-grandchildren, 36 of whom are yet living. Sister Bagby professed religion and united with the Methodist Church in her girlhood days, the exact date of which even is not known., but it was when she was quite young; so we can safely say she was for more than an half century a faithful follower of the meek and lowly Jesus. Sister Bagby simply died of old age and general debility, and was for some eight months or more confined almost entirely to her bed, but during her long confinement her faith did not fail her, and constantly she realized the presence of the "Good Shepherd," so that when she came "to walk through the valley of the shadow of death" she did not fear evil for He was with her, "His rod and staff comforted her." Just two days before her death she told the writer that God was with her and Jesus was very precious, and during a service in her room she became very happy and rejoiced all that her strength would allow. Her funeral discourse was preached by the writer, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Sullivan, on Sunday, April 24, to a large congregation of sympathizing friends and neighbors, after which she was laid to rest in the Groves cemetery, whence she will come in that great day of the resurrection.
