He was born Jan. 6,1914 at the family farm, the fifth child of twelve. Reece is survived by his sisters Annetta (Ellsworth) Scoville, June (Wayne) Gough, and Mary (Eldon) Edwards. He was a devoted father to his son, Glen (Brenda) Gibb and has four grandchildren: He has two great grandchildren, . He is predeceased by his wife Alda Wood Gibb and an infant son, Donald Leroy. Reece taught in Raymond, Ballyehamage, Indus, and Rosemary and especially enjoyed staging musical theatre, such as The Pirates of Penzance with his students. However, his heart was in farming. Hampered slightly by the loss of his left leg in 1923, he learned to perform farming tasks in a variety of ingenious ways. He broke horses, put up prairie hay, flood irrigated his crops, and assisted the neighbours. He is best remembered for a remarkably sweet tenor voice. On his mission Reece sang on radio shows hosted in the grand ballrooms of the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa and the Chateau Frontenao in Montreal. Fortunately for Southern Alberta he returned to sing with numerous quartets and at the funerals of family and friends.
