Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Jeannette Bennet and Michellyn Rouze both of Ottumwa, Susette (Gary) Stafford of Monroe; 9 grandchildren, Josh (Jamie) Terrell, Samantha Bennett, Moffatt Reed Bennett, Frank Bennett III, Curtis Rouze, Brittany Rouze, Daniel Stafford, Tyler Stafford, and Shelby Stafford; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cecalee Lewis of West Des Moines; a brother-in-law, Don Hammond of Hampton, VA; and a sister-in-law, Julie Rex of Stacyville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lettyann Hammond, and three brothers, his twin Roe Rex, infant brother Loral Rex, and Rob Rex.
