Reeka attained the age of 82 years, 8 months and 19 days. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Eight years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Geerd Wallenstein came to Dakota and filed on a homestead southwest of the present Lennox townsite. That was in 1879 when the pioneer couple settled on their claim here and they continued their residence there until 1915 when they retired and moved to Lennox. Their deaths were only a few months apart. Both died 'in 1932— Mrs. Wallenstein on March 12 and Mr. Wallenstein on October 23. Mr. Wallenstein was born April 12, 1841 at Veenhusen, Kries Lear, Germany. He came to the United States in 1867 and settled at Freeport, IL, where he remained for three years and then took up his residence at Ackley, IA. Mrs. Wallenstein—nee Reeka Muller—was born June 22, 1849 at Bunde Kries, Ostfriesland, Germany, and after the death of her father, came to this country with her mother in 1870, settling at Ackley, Iowa. The couple was married there July 7, 1871, and following their marriage they settled at Aplington, IA., where they remained until their later settlement near Lennox. Mr. and Mrs. Wallenstein enjoyed a wedding partnership of more than six decades. Ten children were born to this union, all of whom survived their parents at their deaths. These were as follows: Mrs. Fred Ertmoed, Henry Wallenstein, Mrs. Dick Brower, Mrs. Peter Temple Mrs. Teus Goeman, Mrs. Harm Brower, Datert Wallenstein, William Wallenstein, Harry Wallenstein, and Mrs. Ben Otten. For several years Mr. and Mrs. Wallenstein were members of the Turner county First Presbyterian church. In April, 1923 they joined the Lennox church. Mr. Wallenstein attained the age of 91 years, six months and 11 days at the time of his demise.
