Description	:	Regina Magdalena Koenig, of Elgin, NE., passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. Regina daughter of Henry J. and Theresa M.(Friedman) Eischeid, was born June 5, 1925 on a farm northeast of Elgin, NE. Jean was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church, attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from St. Boniface High School in May 1943. She worked for the Antelope County Soil Conservation office in Elgin and Neligh for a few years, and then was employed in Omaha, NE for 1 ½ years as secretary... Read More	Regina Magdalena Koenig, of Elgin, NE., passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. Regina daughter of Henry J. and Theresa M.(Friedman) Eischeid, was born June 5, 1925 on a farm northeast of Elgin, NE. Jean was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church, attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from St. Boniface High School in May 1943. She worked for the Antelope County Soil Conservation office in Elgin and Neligh for a few years, and then was employed in Omaha, NE for 1 ½ years as secretary for the Farm Credit Building manager. In April 1950, Jean was united in marriage to Benjamin J. Koenig at St. Boniface Church in Elgin, NE. They lived on several farms in the area until moving to the Koenig family farm in 1979, where they lived, farmed and raised chickens, cattle and hogs until retiring and moving to town in 1991. Jean was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church, an active member of the Altar Society and Choir and a member of the Scattered Neighbors Extension Club. She was also a church organist. She enjoyed baking, gardening, quilting, playing the piano and spending time with her family. Jean is survived by: sons: Bob (Karen) Koenig of Elgin, NE. and Joe (Lisa) Koenig of Raleigh, N.C.; daughters: Carol (Doug) Smith of Griswold, IA., Linda Koenig of Oklahoma City, OK. Betty (John) Dine of Omaha, NE. and Mary (Jeff) Bohning of Seward, NE.; grandchildren: Melissa Smith of Syracuse, N.Y.; Mary Helen Smith of Denver, CO.; Mitchell (Erica) Smith of Cedar Falls, IA.; Laura (Cody) Adams of Oklahoma City, OK.; Nathan Dine of Omaha, NE.; Stephanie Dine of Omaha, NE.; Melodie (Justin) Puffer of Roseville, CA.; Shanna Koenig of Aliso Viejo, CA.; Allison Koenig of Elgin, NE.; Arianna Bohning of Seward, NE.; Elise Bohning of Seward, NE.; Adam Koenig of Raleigh, N.C.; Ana Koenig of Raleigh, N.C. and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: parents, Henry and Theresa; husband, Ben Koenig in March 2012; brothers, Joseph, Leo and Edward Eischeid and sisters: Alma Eischeid and Henrietta Ridder.
