Read More	Married Wendelin Harty in 1903 Married Joseph Heier 3 Sep 1940 The following family history was provided by Find a Grave Contributor: Sharon Hibl (49372102) — 28 Jan 2022 Regina Stolz-Hardy History From: Johanna Hardy-Vetch The great-great grandparents of Regina Stolz came from the Pfalz Province in Germany and the French Province of Alsace. They migrated to Russia in 1809. Many Germans migrated to the UK and to the lower Volga region at the invitation of Catherine the Great immigrants and Alex[ander] the 1st, her grandson and successor. The German immigrants were given land and interest free loans. They were allowed to retain their language and religion. They were also allowed to govern their communities and schools. They were also exempt from military duty. The gradual repeal of these privileges causes many of the colonists to leave Russia and resettle in the United States, Canada and some South American countries. Andreas Stolz, a farmer, came from Hassel, a village located in the Pfalz province. His wife, Barbara Straub, came from the village of Wilgartswiesen, also located in the Pfalz providence. In 1809, Andreas Stolz, his wife and their three children: Josef, Elizabeth, and Annamaria, left their home in Germany to start a New life on the Russian Steppes. Their New home was in a village called Landau, located in the Beresan Colony. The Stolz's were one of the founding families of Landau. Their first home was a dugout. A dugout was a hole in the ground with a roof made of reeds. As conditions improved, the colonists build homes that resembled the ones they left behind. Andreas and Barbara had two more children: Andreas and Michael, both born in Landau. Josef Stolz, oldest child of Andreas, married Elizabeth Senn, who came from the nearby village of Speier. She was the daughter of Michael and Katherina Senn. The Senn's had immigrated from the village of Oberseebach, Alsace in 1809. They were one of the founding families of Speier. Josef and Elizabeth Stolz made their home in Landau. They had six children: Margarete, Christian, Wilma, Marianna, Josef and Jakob. Christian, a blacksmith by trade, and his wife, Katheranina, had five children: Jakob, Bonaventura, Venenz, Johann and Rafael. Bonaventura's first wife was Miss Ehrmantraut. They had one child, Regina. Miss Ehrmantraut died shortly after Regina's birth. Regina is the mother to Johanna (Hardy) Vetch. Bonaventura them married Magdalena Hutmacher. They had two sons: Philipp and Emmanuel before immigrating to the United States in the Early 1890's. Regina stayed in Russia with her grandparents. Bonaventura and Magdalena lived near Yankton, SD. There had two more children: Jakob and Katherina. Magdalena died in Yankton. In 1895 Bonaventura moved his family to Ashley, North Dakota. There he met Elizabeth Heilman Detling and on Oct 6, 1895 they were married in the Catholic Church in Eureka, SD. Elizabeth has two married daughters, Marian and Catherine. Bonaventura and his New wife lived on her homestead near Ashley. They had two more children: George and Sebastian. In 1898 they homesteaded three miles west of Hosmer, SD. In 1909 Bonaventura moved his family to a farm near Gladstone, North Dakota. He passed away in 1928. When Regina was nineteen she came to the United States to live with her father. On the third of November 1903, she married Wendelin Hardy. They homesteaded South of Hosmer. They had twelve children: Elizabeth, Johanna, Julianna, John, David, George, Leopold, Marcus, Roy, Joseph, Mary Ann and Martin. Wendelin Hardy passed away on Aug. 5, 1939. On Sept. 3, 1940, Regina married Joseph Heier. Joseph Heier passed away on May 15, 1952. Regina passed away on Jan. 2, 1953.
