Description	:	Rockport — Reginald "Reggie" Edward Fecteau, 77, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at his home. Born in Waterville on Aug. 29, 1928, he was the son of Albert and Bernadette (Cabana) Fecteau. He received his bachelor's degree at Catholic University and his master's degree from St. John's University. He entered the Order of Christian Brothers of Instruction in Alfred, where he remained until age 32. During that time he taught French, English and history at Catholic schools in Biddeford; Fall River, Mass.; Detroit, Mich.; and Montreal, Canada. Born in Waterville on Aug. 29, 1928, he was the son of Albert and Bernadette (Cabana) Fecteau. He received his bachelor's degree at Catholic University and his master's degree from St. John's University. He entered the Order of Christian Brothers of Instruction in Alfred, where he remained until age 32. During that time he taught French, English and history at Catholic schools in Biddeford; Fall River, Mass.; Detroit, Mich.; and Montreal, Canada. In 1961, he married Joanne Hren of East Hampton, Long Island, N.Y. She died in 1982. Reggie was a high school French teacher for many years at East Hampton High School where he enjoyed taking his students on numerous exchange trips to France. He was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in East Hampton. In 1987 he retired and moved to Venice, Fla. where he taught French and English retiring for a second time in 2003. On June 2, 1990, he married Maxine "Micki" Garner in Venice where they were communicants at Epiphany Cathedral. In 2003, Reggie and Micki moved to Glen Cove where they built a new home. Reggie continued his love of teaching at Camden Hills Regional High School, where he did substitute teaching in French and English. He is survived by his wife, Maxine "Micki" Fecteau of Rockport; his two sons, Jean-Pierre "JP" Fecteau of Camden and Andre Fecteau of Austin, Texas; his two stepchildren, Stuart Garner and his wife Christine of Sudbury, Mass. and Donna Teets and her husband Curtis of Lexington, S.C.; his two grandchildren, Kayla and Cole Teets; his brother-in-law, Joe Breton of Oldsmar, Fla.; his three sisters-in-law, Cynthia Fecteau of Hampton Bays, N.Y., Nana Fecteau of Port Jefferson, N.Y. and recently of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Barbara Lord of Sarasota, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Fecteau and Armand Fecteau and his sister, Connie Breton. In addition, the Brothers of Christian Instruction in Alfred, ME; especially his long time friend Brother Francis Blouin. (Republican Journal 7/28/2006)
