Description	:	Reinhardt Preheim was born on August 26, 1919 to Joseph J. and Katie (Miller) Preheim in Childstown Township, Turner County, South Dakota. He passed away on January 10, 2020 at Mountain Lake, Minnesota having reached the age of 100 years and 4 months. Upon his confession of faith, Reinhardt was baptized on August 12 1934 by Rev. P.R. Read More	Reinhardt Preheim was born on August 26, 1919 to Joseph J. and Katie (Miller) Preheim in Childstown Township, Turner County, South Dakota. He passed away on January 10, 2020 at Mountain Lake, Minnesota having reached the age of 100 years and 4 months. Upon his confession of faith, Reinhardt was baptized on August 12 1934 by Rev. P.R. Schroeder at the Salem Mennonite Church of Freeman, SD. He remained a lifelong member of the South Church congregation. During World War II, Reinhardt served in Civilian Public Service from January, 1942 to June, 1943 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Terry, Montana. On August 31, 1944 he was united in marriage to Susanna Lehmann. One daughter Lois, and two sons, Harlin and Oren were born to this family. After farming on Reiny’s home place for 26 years, Reiny and Susanna purchased a farm near Windom, MN and moved there in March of 1970. Susanna passed away on November 26 of that same year, after a brief battle with brain cancer. Reinhardt married Margaret Peters Fast on August 31, 1973, and lived at Mountain Lake, MN since that time, most recently at the Good Samaritan Village Nursing Home. Reinhardt was a farmer, self-employed electrician, and volunteer of many endeavors. He invented numerous labor saving devices and enjoyed woodworking and reading in his last years. He loved tinkering in the shop since he was a young boy. These interests followed him his entire life until macular degeneration prevented him from doing most of these activities Reinhardt was active in Mennonite Disaster Service for many years. He was a soil conservation award winner in the 1950’s and a member of the Turkey Ridge water shed in South Dakota. Reiny helped build the original Pioneer Hall on the Freeman Academy Campus, the Salem Mennonite Church in 1965, and then the rebuilding of the church when it burned in 1985. Reinhardt is survived by a daughter Lois (Colin) Lepp, a grandson Shawn (Terri) Lepp and their children Taylor and Peyton, granddaughter Michelle (Tracy) Petersohn and their children Kendra, Owen, and Pierce, all of Dodge Center, MN. Reinhardt is also survived by a son Oren Preheim of Windom, MN, granddaughter Sara (Corey) Barfknecht and their children of Windom, MN. He is also survived by his step sons and daughters, John (Barb) Fast, Elaine Anton, Sherryl (Donovan) Friesen, Ken (Wendy) Fast, Lois (Wayne) Sousley, Karen (Dale) Shenk, and Janiece (Mark) Scozzari. Reinhardt was preceded in death by his first wife Susanna Lehmann Preheim in 1970 and Margaret Fast Preheim in 2017, his parents, two brothers Ted and Clifford and his son Harlin in 2001.
