Description	:	Remembrance Lippincott, born 23 April 1805 in Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia). He married Eleanor Davis 07 October 1805 in Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia). They had at least nine children, most born in Logan County, Ohio, where they had moved in 1831. Three of their young children, Lewis, Emily and Lucretia, died in Ohio. Wife Eleanor died after 1860 census -before 27 March 1867. Remembrance married Mary Jane (McQuillaIn) Daniells on 27 March 1867. Mary Jane had three children from her first marriage and two more after her marriage to Remembrance: Mary Ann and Truman Gilbert. Obituary: "Remembrance Lippincott, an old gentleman of 75 [78], was found dead in his bed Friday morning [2 June 1882]. He had at one time been a heavy user of opium, but some years since went east for the purpose of effecting a cure. It was decided, however, by the [Coroner's] jury that he came to his death by an overdose of that drug. He left a family fairly well provided for...the remains were buried in the family burying ground east of town." Lippincott Pioneer Cemetery On 18 January 1867, Remembrance Lippincott filed a legal document that set aside a burying ground for the sole use of himself and his heirs in section 15 of Union Township, Fayette County, Iowa. There are no known burial records for this cemetery and it has been said that it was plowed over many years ago. A 1914 legal notice to the listed heirs of Remembrance Lippincott in the "West Union Argo-Gazette" by C.B. Hughes, attorney for the plaintiff Martin Shea, said, in part, that "on or about 1890 said 1/2 acre piece was abandoned as a cemetery and has since said time been abandoned and neglected and not kept or used for burial purposes..." In addition, the plaintiff asked that the defendants be "forever barred and estopped from having or claiming any right, title or interest in and to the said premises..."
