"Remma Leota Lowrance, 84, Maitland, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at a Plattsburg care and rehabilitation center. Mrs. Lowrance was born in Graham, July 16, 1914, to George and Effie German Kenny. She was a lifetime resident of the Maitland and Graham areas. On Oct. 7, 1934 she married Clyde L. Lowrance in Maryville. He died in 1992. She was co-owner of L & L Grocery in Maitland until her retirement. She was a member of the Maitland Christian Church and the CBC Club and Pitch Club, both of Maitland. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Kenny; and a sister, Dorothy Kenny. Survivors include a son, James Lowrance of Marshalltown, Iowa; two daughters, Joann Mowry of Denver, Colo., and Connie Collins of Plattsburg; two brothers, Charles Kenny of Skidmore and Harold Kenny of Graham; three sisters, Ethyle Wheeler, Juanita Sherrow and Neva Farmer, all of Maryville; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Maitland Christian Church. The Rev. Bill Gazaway will officiate. Visitation will be today, Thursday, Dec. 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham. Memorials may be made to the Crippled Children's Foundation or the Children's Center, Maryville."
