Music was provided by Joyce Star, organist, and Gordon Feenstra, soloist. Casketbearers were Mervin Bultje, Jim Bultje, Herb Bosma, Norman Muilenburg, Dwayne Muilenburg and Donnie Muilenburg. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery. Rena Muilenburg was born April 17, 1921, on a farm near Corsica to John A. and Johanna (Klein) Muilenburg. She grew up in Douglas County and attended country school in Garfield Township. She was baptized and made profession of faith in Corsica Christian Reformed Church, where she was a faithful lifelong member. She enjoyed the Dorcus Society meetings as well as Bible study groups that she belonged to. She also enjoyed Senior Citizens meetings and loved playing games with her neighbors and friends. Rena worked at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Corsica as a nurses' aide for many years. When she was younger she helped relatives raise their children, helped several nephews and nieces and raised Betty (Westra) Feenstra after Betty's parents died when she was a young child. Rena died Thurs., July 31,1997, at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour at the age of 76. She is survived by her niece, Betty and Gordon Feenstra of Corsica, and their two children, Chad and Cathy Feenstra of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Andrea Feenstra of Corsica; two sisters, Allie Schryvers of Mitchell and Margaret Bultje of Armour; a sister-in-law, Ann Schultz of Mitchell; and many special nieces, and nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors who helped her through the last year of her life. Rena was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bertha and Henrietta; two brothers, Peter and Art; five brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law. -----------------------------------------------------------
