Description	:	Rena Remmerde, 90, of Sioux Center died Thursday, August 9, at her residence. Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Remmerde was born October 21, 1910, near Sioux Center, the daughter of H. W. and Gerdena (Voortman) Rensink. She attended and graduated from a country school near Sioux Center. She was active in church activities and 4-H during her youth. Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Remmerde was born October 21, 1910, near Sioux Center, the daughter of H. W. and Gerdena (Voortman) Rensink. She attended and graduated from a country school near Sioux Center. She was active in church activities and 4-H during her youth. She married Ben Sandbulte on February 17, 1932, at the Rensink family home. The couple farmed near Sioux Center and later near Carmel from 1932 to 1944, when her husband became joint owner with Jake Huisman in the Sioux Center Implement Company. They moved into Sioux Center in 1947. Her husband, died: April 27, 1963. She married Robert Remmerde on May 6, 1968, in Rock Valley. He died November 11, 1995. She was a member of First Reformed Church, Reformed Church Women and Priscilla Circle. She was a dedicated homemaker, an excellent cook and baker and loved birds, flowers and gardens. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Arend and Verna Sandbulte of Duluth, Minnesota, and Wilbur and Leslie Sandbulte of Seattle, Washington; four daughters, Ardene and her husband, Arnold Ver Hoef of Sioux Center, Dorothy and her husband William Baldwin of Maryville, Missouri, Esther and her husband Michael Hanlon of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Rachel Eisinger of Whitefish, Montana; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two step-greatgrandchildren; a sister, Sena Vreeman of Sheldon; a brother and his wife, Marinus and Bertha Rensink of Sioux Center; three sisters-in-law, Agnes (Sandbulte) Harskamp of Wausau, Wisconsin, Matilda Van Berkum of Rock Valley and Magdalena Fedders of Sioux Center; and two stepdaughters and their husbands, Annabelle and Harvey Bolks of Rock Valley and Ruth and Marinus Spierenberg of Pella. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerrit and William. Sioux Center News 2001-08-15.
