Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of North Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in North Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, of Orangeburg. Rendy was born November 7, 1954, to Julian Boland and Sybil Patrick Boland. He graduated from Bowman Academy and USC School of Pharmacy. Rendy was a pharmacist with Boland Pharmacy, R&J Drugs, Giant Discount Pharmacy, and Tyler Brothers Pharmacy in Wagner. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of North. He served as an usher and greeter, and he was a member of the nominating and personnel committees. He was involved in local and international missions. He was instrumental in the North Cooperative Ministry and "Little Free Library." He was also a correspondent for The Times and Democrat. Survivors include his wife, Gina, of 15 years, of the home; mother, Sybil P. Boland, of Bowman, SC; son, William Sims Boland, of Columbia, SC; step-son, Lee Austin Thompson, of Atlanta, GA; step-daughter, Maria Leigh Thompson, of Washington, DC; four brothers, Patrick (Miriam) Boland, of Asheville, NC, Randy (Carolyn) Boland, of Bowman, SC, Rusty (Betsy) Boland, of Elloree, SC, Ryan (Pam) Boland, of Savannah, GA; a sister, Robin (Bob) West, of Orangeburg, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Julian Boland.
