The organist was Marilyn Kriegel and the soloist was Angie Hawkins. Selections were "Wind Beneath My Wings", "How Great Thou Art", and "Old Rugged Cross." Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. A Rosary service was held at 7:30 PM, Monday, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. A memorial fund has been established. Renna August Bazyn, son of Saraphine and Leona Slock Bazyn, was born February 22, 1911, at Belle Plaine, Iowa. He received his education at Belle Plaine. On July 14, 1937, he was married to Marie Sophie DeCoster in St. Bridget's Church, Victor. He worked in a shoe store in Belle Plaine, gas station in Victor and delivered groceries. Since 1937 Renna work on a farm for Tom and Doyle Ryan north of Brooklyn. Renna was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn. He enjoyed fishing, rolle bolle, farming and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alice Meldrem and Bertha DeCoster; and one brother, Maurice. Survivors include his wife, Marie; five sons and five daughters, Jean Wheeler and her husband, Ron, of Sigourney, Mary McDonald and her husband, Fred, of Brooklyn, Dixie Willett of Cedar Rapids, Leo and his wife, Judy of Deltona, Florida, Betty Vance of Oak Harbor, Washington, John of Montezuma, Dave of Brooklyn, Paul and his wife, Kathy, of Elkader, Jim of Montezuma, Ann Morrow and her husband, Mike, of Blairstown; 30 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
