Reta Ella Chaney was born on March 20, 1911, in Decatur County, Iowa, the youngest child of Robert and Linnie (Ellis) Chaney. She attended rural school in Decatur County and graduated from Decatur High School. On March 14, 1936, she married Delbert D. McLain in Trenton, Missouri. They moved to Marshall County in 1944. Reta was a homemaker all of her married life except for a few years that she worked at the Marshall County Care Facility. Survivors include her sons, Claudie (Mary Lou) McLain and Jerry McLain, all of Marshalltown; her daughter, Carol (Ron) Schoborg of Harrison, Ark.; three grandchildren, Brett (Joy) McLain, Cloyce (Kathy) Schoborg, and Lisa (David) Kloppenborg; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In eternal life, Reta joins her parents; her husband, Delbert, on April 2, 1992; a sister; and five brothers.
