Description	:	Reuben is the grandson of James and Priscilla (Burton) Benjamin. Also the grandson of Christopher Bromley. “During the summer of 1811 a number of gentlemen come on from Mass. and selected their lands, and the following year (1812) the township began to settle quite rapidly. One of our party had previously been to Espy's Mill & brought on the other five gallons of whiskey (which was brought on their backs). We started as before, early in the morning - took turns in carrying the whiskey, and arrived in good season at the place of building. “The first thing after arriving was to form a ring and all hands take a horn.
