Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Reuben Chris Schantz was born January 1, 1920 near Beemer, NE to Christian and Lizzie (Oswald) Schantz. He attended Cuming Co . Rural School. On December 30, 1940, he was united in marriage to Margaret Oswald in Council Bluffs, IA. The couple lived near Beemer, where Reuban farmed and raised Shorthorn cattle. He was a member of the Beemer Mennonite Church, serving as Chorister for many years and belonged to its Men's Quartet. Reuben was also a member of the Cuming Choraliers. Survivors include- Children- Ken and wife Carolyn Schantz of West Point, NE Don Schantz of Beemer, NE Merna Recker of West Point, NE Liz and husband Ken Ruger of West Point, NE 21 Grandchildren 38 Great Grandchildren 1 Great-Great Grandchild Sister- Helen Schantz of Beemer, NE Brother- Ben and wife Linda Schantz of Beemer, NE Reuben was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers, and one sister.
