Visitation for Reuben H. Pralle will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. P.M. at Dugger Funeral Home, 320 East Street in Latimer and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday. The family requests that memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lutheran Family Services, Franklin General Hospital, or Hospice North Iowa. Reuben Henry Carl Pralle was born on September 20, 1915, in Marion Township, Franklin County, to August and Emma (Keppel) Pralle. He was baptized November 7, 1915, and confirmed April 14, 1930, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer. He attended schools in Coulter and at St. Paul's in Latimer, all the time wishing he could be outdoors. He farmed with his father and brother Walter and was one of the first farmers in the area to get a tractor, amazing even himself at how fast the F-20 would prepare a field. On October 8, 1941, he married Wilhelmine Albers at St. John's Lutheran Church in Barre Mills, WI, and they continued farming until their retirement, at which time he learned to dance. He and Willie enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with their ever-expanding family and circle of friends. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving as elder among other offices, and a member of Lutheran Layman's League. Willie died in 1998. Reuben is survived by his daughters Mary Jane Koenen of Hampton, Janette (Darwin) Hughes of Clear Lake, and Betty (Ted) Meyer of Marseilles, IL; grandchildren Jack (special friend Dawn), Jeane, Jim (Pam), Jeff (Sarah), Jay (Kelly) Koenen; Jane (Dan) Allen; Eric (Debbie), David (Heather), and Dan (Amy) Meyer; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; seventeen step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his dancing partner Helen Bergman. He and Helen traveled to many dances and delighted fellow dancers with their smoothness and stamina. There to meet him in Heaven are his parents, his wife Willie, his brother Walter, his sister and brother-in-law Alvina and Elmer Honold, his sons-in-law Dr. Richard Koenen and Max Marcus, and several brothers- and sisters-in law.
