His family cemetery is located in Deerfield, but the location is not precisely known. Reuben was the son of James Langley and Charlotte Emerson of Durham and Deerfield, New Hampshire. He was married in Deerfield 13 March 1800 to Lucy Page, b. c. 1780, d. Dec 1840. Reuben was a soldier in the War of 1812, being a private in Long's Command of Artillery, New Hampshire Militia. He was of Deerfield in 1815 when his father's estate was settled. Reuben appears on the 1810 census in Deerfield with wife and six children-- an older girl and five young boys. On the 1820 census in Deerfield Reuben appears with wife and five children--one male under 10 and two males 10-15, one female under 10, and one female 16-25. His will, dated 4 October 1826, was recorded a month later, and his inventory taken 7 Nov 1826; he left to wife Lucy, five sons Josiah, Reuben, True, Timothy, and Seth Langley, and daughter Abigail Jane Langley. Lucy's will, dated 5 Dec 1840, was proved 13 Jan 1841, and left legacies mostly to her grandchildren who were children of her sons True and Timothy. Children, all born in Deerfield: * Reuben, b. 1800, living in 1860 census, m. Stratham, Rockingham Co., NH 18 April 1822 Sarah "Sally" SCAMMON, b. Stratham 4 June 1798, d. there 15 March 1853, daughter of Richard Scammon and Elizabeth Chase. Reuben was named in his father's 1826 will but not in his mother's 1840 will. * Abigail Jane, b. c. 1802, named in her father's 1826 will, but not mother's 1840 will. She was likely the female aged 16-25 enumerated with her father's family in the 1820 census. * Josiah, b. c. 1804, may be the one of his name who married in Nottingham, NH 30 Nov 1843 Susen SMALL. He was named in his father's 1826 will, but not in his mother's 1840 will. He doesn't seem to be one of the children in the 1820 census with his parents, so may have been apprenticed out. * True, b. Aug 1807, d. Deerfield 15 Sep 1854, m. (1) Mehitable Dow (1805-1841) and m. (2) Elizabeth Dowst (1814-1853). He is one of the males, aged 10-15 in the 1820 census. He is buried in the True Langley Cem., Deerfield. He was named in the wills of both parents, and three of his children were named in his mother's will. * Seth, b. c. 1810, was named in his father's 1826 will, but called deceased in his mother's 1840 will. He would have to be one of the two males aged 10-15 in the 1820 census. * Timothy, b. 1812, d. Dover, NH 15 Jan 1888, m. Louisa _______, b. 1813, d. Dover 13 Aug 1886. He would be the male under 10 years old in the 1820 census. They lived in Strafford, NH, had four daughters, and are buried in Pine Hill Cem., Dover, NH. Timothy was named in the wills of both parents, and two of his daughters were named in his mother's 1840 will.
