Funeral services will be Friday, October 4 at 2 p.m. in the Bethany Free Church, Binford, ND. Military Honors will be by the Jonas A. Helland Legion Post #111, Binford. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery, rural Binford, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Reuben was born March 13, 1922, in Binford, ND, the son of Anton and Mary (Gilbertson) Miller. He grew up and was educated in the Binford area and was confirmed at the Bethany Free Lutheran Church in Binford. Reuben spent most of his life farming in rural Binford where he also worked as a custom air crop sprayer for many years. Reuben entered the United States Army November 29, 1945. He served in the European Theater, maintaining, inspecting and repairing an L-5. He was responsible for the plane’s safe condition and readiness for flight. He was discharged March 19, 1947. He married Beverly Fjeld December 7, 1972, in Mesa, AZ. After their marriage they lived and farmed near Binford until they retired in 1994. The couple moved to Garner, ND, for a time until they eventually took up residence in West Fargo, ND. Beverly died July 2, 2002. Reuben continued to live at his home in West Fargo. Surviving members of the family are his sister, iEmma Miller, Binford, ND; and several nieces and nephews. Reuben was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; seven brothers, Henry, Alfred, Elmer, Gilman, Maynard, Alvin and Melvin; and two sisters, Myrtle and Alma.
