Description	:	Rev. Peter Wedin was born in Agunnaryd, Kronoberg, Sweden. He was a colporteur for Sunnerbo Mission Society and a soldier in the Kronoberg Infantry Regiment and a crofter (share cropper) on a soldier farm. He married Charlotta Marin on Feb. 7, 1857 and they had 6 children born to them in Agunnaryd. He preached for 6 years in Sweden. They emigrated to the United States in 1870 and settled in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois where Peter worked on the railroad and preached in the Swedish settlements. He was a colporteur for Sunnerbo Mission Society and a soldier in the Kronoberg Infantry Regiment and a crofter (share cropper) on a soldier farm. He married Charlotta Marin on Feb. 7, 1857 and they had 6 children born to them in Agunnaryd. He preached for 6 years in Sweden. They emigrated to the United States in 1870 and settled in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois where Peter worked on the railroad and preached in the Swedish settlements. He was called to pastor in the Mission Church in Princeton on Jan. 1, 1873 where he served for 4 years. From 1877-1885 he served as a traveling home missionary for the Mission Synod organized in Keokuk, Iowa. He traveled the central states and established churches from the east coast to California. From 1885-1888 he served a church in Batavia, Illinois. In 1891 he was called to a church in Stotler, Kansas where he served for 12 years. He ceased his active ministry in 1903 and moved to Texas to be with his son John. Rev. C.P. Melgrin and his son Rev. Enoch Wedin served as co-pastors of this church in Stotler. From 1912-1924, another son Rev. Cyrus Wedin also pastored this church. It is unique that a father and 2 sons served the same church in sucession. Rev. Peter Wedin's life and work was written up in several books and publications. In 1906 he and Charlotta returned to Aurora, Nebraska to live with their daughter and son-in-law, A.J. and Ida Wedin Swanson. Peter died Apr. 11, 1907 and was laid to rest in Free Church Cemetery with the Rev. F.O. Gustafson officiating at the funeral service. Peter wrote a book called HTERLJUD (translated HALLELUJAH), a commentary on Hebrews chapter 11, entered into the Library of Congress in 1884. He also wrote a poem (hymn) called "FARVOLLEVADE".
