On Feb 26, 1916, he was married to Ida Beechy, who survives. In June, 1926, he was ordained as minister to serve the Walnut Creek Church. He served as pastor from 1926 to 1941, and retired from active ministry in 1959, following a serious heart attack. One son, one brother, and one sister preceded him in death.
