Description	:	UNION - The Rev. Carl A. Fiske, 75, of 105 Louise St. died Jan. 30, 2001, at Wallace Thomson Hospital. A native of East Killingly, Conn., he was the husband of Bessie Oglesby Fiske and the son of the late Albert R. and Bernice Shippee Fiske. He was a retired Baptist minister and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Read More	UNION - The Rev. Carl A. Fiske, 75, of 105 Louise St. died Jan. 30, 2001, at Wallace Thomson Hospital. A native of East Killingly, Conn., he was the husband of Bessie Oglesby Fiske and the son of the late Albert R. and Bernice Shippee Fiske. He was a retired Baptist minister and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He had served as minister of Buncomb Road Baptist Church in Greenville, Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church in Clayton, N.C., Woodside Baptist Church in Greenville, Tabernacle Baptist Church in Union, Midland Park Baptist Church in Charleston, Southern Bleachery Baptist Church in Taylors and West Greenville Baptist Church. He had served as interim pastor at several churches and held various offices in the associations and state convention. In addition, he was a World War II Navy veteran and was a graduate of Furman University and the Southeastern Seminary. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Cynthia Coffer of Union and Carol Gwin of Natick, Mass.; two sisters, Elsie F. Willette of South Portland, Maine, and Vivian F. Turner of Torrington, Conn.; one brother, Robert Fiske of Summerville; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Barry Ellis and Lester C. Rich. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of his daughter, Cynthia Coffer, 101 Carter St., Union. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, 29379.
