Description	:	CENTRAL CITY — Rev. Denison "Denny" D. Conner, 94, of Central City died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Beth Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Read More	CENTRAL CITY — Rev. Denison "Denny" D. Conner, 94, of Central City died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Solt Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Beth Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Denison was born May 10, 1919, in Glenvil to James and Hattie (Kamm) Conner. In Nebraska, he attended Mulberry Grove Country School, Fairfield and Glenvil High School, and graduated from Hastings College in 1940. While in college, he was licensed to preach the gospel by First Baptist Church of Glenvil. He graduated from Eastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia in 1943. That same year, on June 5, Denison and Bertha Ericson were united in marriage. Also in that same year, he was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church in Woodstown, N.J. Subsequently, he returned to Eastern Seminary, where he earned a master's degree in theology in 1956. While in Woodstown, he and Bertha were blessed with twin sons, Kenneth and Alfred. Denison served 10 different churches in five states from 1939 through 1996. He served the First Baptist Church in Chapman from 1976 to 1984, when he retired. In his semi-retirement he was the part-time pastor at Palestine Baptist Church in Platte County until his full retirement in 1996. Denison had lived in Central City since 1984. Bertha died on June 11, 2002. Denison was a member of the Chapman First Baptist Church and the Merrick County Ministerial Alliance. He sang with the Hastings College choir and with many men's quartet groups. He enjoyed working with tools and cars. Those left to cherish Denison's memory are his twin sons, Alfred and Kenneth Conner, both of Central City; his sister, Ruth Conner of Glenvil; and two nephews, Jim and Chris Conner of North Platte and Dan and Karen Conner of Omaha. In addition to his wife, Denison was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gayle Conner, in 2010; a sister-in-law, Anne Conner, in 2005; and a nephew, Steve Conner.
