Born in Leed, South Dakota, he was a son of the late Lewis and Marice Pitzenberger Noé. A U.S. Army veteran, Rev. Noé was a retired minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. Upon retirement he served as area coordinator and academic advisor for adult education for Limestone College. He was a devoted pastor, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Robyn N. Armstrong of Hickory Tavern and Jonathan Noé and wife, Kim, of Inman; grandchildren, Jason Armstrong and wife, Dana, of Clemson, Heather Armstrong of Hickory Tavern, B.G. Hodges of Hickory Tavern, Benjamin Noé of Inman and Brook Noé of Inman; great-grandson, Reed Armstrong of Clemson; sisters, Delores Brinegar of Ottumwa, Iowa, Darlene Shaffer of Mingo, Iowa, and Bonnie Van Wardhuizer of Newton Iowa; and a brother, Darrell Noé of Mingo, Iowa. In addition to his parents, Rev. Noé was predeceased by brothers, Dale and Dennis Noé, and a sister, Diane Noé. Funeral services will be held at Friendship Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, conducted by Dr. Robert D. Cathcart Jr. and the Rev. David Webber. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of his daughter, Robyn Armstrong, 227 Bolt Road, Gray Court, and will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon's International, 835 W. Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, S.C. 29341; or to Friendship Presbyterian Church, 2094 Neely Ferry Road, Laurens, S.C. 29360.
