Description	:	On November 1, 2021, Reverend Edwin "Ed" Hanna, husband of Rhetta Miles Hanna and father of Meredith and Whitman Hanna, departed this life in the same manner in which he lived, peacefully and with full trust in Jesus Christ. Read More	On November 1, 2021, Reverend Edwin "Ed" Hanna, husband of Rhetta Miles Hanna and father of Meredith and Whitman Hanna, departed this life in the same manner in which he lived, peacefully and with full trust in Jesus Christ. Ed was born on November 15, 1962 in Johnsonville, SC, the youngest son of William A and Ulmer Hughes Hanna. He was a 1981 graduate of Johnsonville High School and a 1986 graduate of Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC. He was the recipient of the N.J Holmes Award, a recognition of one graduate who best exemplified the school motto of "Living for Others." On August 9 of 1983, he met the love of his life, the former Rhetta Miles. They were married on October 21, 1989 but Ed never forgot their initial meeting and counted the years of their life together from that date. He was licensed in 1987 and ordained as a Minister in the South Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1992, and served as a pastor in that conference for 30 years. In addition to his love of ministry, Ed enjoyed working as a member of the Florence County School District Three Maintenance Team. His home school was Dr. Ronald E. McNair School of Digital Communication and Leadership (DREM-DCL) where he earned the respect of his supervisors and coworkers as a diligent, kind and dedicated worker. Everyday his goal was to treat others with great kindness and respect. He did so in his quiet, humble and patient manner. Other than his family, Ed's great love was the cause of World Missions. Throughout his adult life, he continued a practice that had begun in his youth. Ed collected coins, particularly quarters, which he rolled and then exchanged for bills to be given to the ministry of the IPHC World Missions Department through a local church congregation. As a part of honoring his life, there will be a container in the foyer of the chapel. Those who wish may place a roll of quarters to be given to the World Missions GO offering of the IPHC ministries. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Carol Hanna.
